  • Forged and Machined in the USA
  • This is a high performance piston with tighter piston to cylinder clearances than OEM specifications.  It is important to ensure that choked cylinders have no more than .013" of diametrical choke.

We recently purchased a set of four balanced ASC539021 pistons for a Cub project using an O200 experimental TXM engine. The pistons arrived on time (very good tracking system); all have the exact same weight; the quality of the piston is extremely good. The piston allows the use of (a) the OEM piston pin without the need for rod busing machining (b) and the OEM rings. In our application, the piston will be used with a gapless second compression ring, with OEM rings for the top compression ring and third OEM ring used for oil control. No oil scraping ring is needed like in the original lower (7:1) compression pistons. The ASC539021 pistons seems to be an ideal solution to correcting the typical operational issues (elevated oil temp, excessive blowby, the use of 100LL) associated with the early low compression O200A engines.
